Stogies lost a heartbreaker to Detroit Iron Gloves by the score of 7 to
6.
The game was won by Detroit with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After
two were out Scott Rolen tripled. Jones followed and he slapped a single
resulting in an exciting win for Detroit and a wild post-game celebration by
the home town fans. Detroit and Tampico each finished the afternoon with 12
hits.
Julian Tavarez(3-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Ron
Mahay(4-4) was hit with the loss in relief. Despite the loss, he struckout 4
Detroit batters in 1 and 2/3 innings.
